Johnny Money Online Game

You may think you don’t want your kids playing video games, but in the case of this one you might want to make an exception.

The Johnny Money Game teaches kids about running a business. The game isn’t just a formulaic engine either. As you play, the game throws you curve-balls like hazardous waste spills, lawsuites, and taxes.

Genetically Modified Organisms

Biotech versus Organic

Biotech versus Organic

Or, GMOs. Haha. Sounds pretty scary, doesn’t it.

Turns out, much of the food we buy is modified in some way. And that’s not a bad thing. Biotechnology helps to make farmland more productive and the food we eat healthier, bigger, and better tasting.

I know, you heard about all the good things “Organic” foods bring to the table.

Turns out, the only good Organic food does is put money in a Marketer’s pocket. In fact, if you watch this video called, “What’s For Lunch?“, you’ll see that because of the price differences, traditional “non-organic” produce is probably better because it makes fruits and vegetables more affordable.

Watch the video then let me know what you think: http://www.monsanto.com/biotech-gmo/asp/guests.asp?id=WhatsForLunch

Fundraising for Obama – in Switzerland?

Posted in politics with tags , , , on September 2, 2008 by jaysza

If you need even more proof that Obama and his surrogates just “don’t get it” as Jose Biden likes to say; I’ve got one more for you…

Turns out George Clooney is headlining a fundraiser for Obama in Geneva. The Reuters article arcs about 9 lanes out of it’s way to point out that the event was being held for “Americans”. Yeah, right.

That’s why the event was being held 8000 miles away. I may be a fool, but I’m not retarded!

Now, this is the type of thing that will appeal to about 4% of the American population (the limousine liberals who think Europe is the way to go) - and turn OFF the other 96%.

This will will get Obama money, but not votes.

Just more proof that the Europeans want the U.S. to have this guy as President. And just one more reason not to vote for him.

Open Letter to OPEC – Wish It Was A “Dear John Letter”

Posted in politics with tags , , , , , on July 21, 2008 by jaysza

Gas prices are high enough, and OPEC wants us to believe that the way to bring those prices down is to stop using domestic biofuels. Yeah, right.

This is like putting a fire out by pouring gasoline on it (if you happen to have some extra laying around).

Fortunately, the World BioFuels Industry has published an open letter to OPEC (and the rest of us) refuting these baseless claims. I just hope people pay attention. We can’t continue to demagogue biofuels, and let the foreign lobbyists control the conversation.

Super-efficient Fuel Cell Cars? Deadly Chemicals in Gasoline?

Posted in politics with tags , , on July 4, 2008 by jaysza

As if the story on gas couldn’t get any worse, it turns out that a carcinogenic chemical called MTBE is added to gasoline to make it burn more efficiently. I guess this is the oil industry’s attempt at going “green”.

This information comes courtesy of a blogger I read who says the solution may be Ethanol. Hey, as long as this doesn’t negatively affect the price of my Gin, I’m for it!

Here’s the petition you can sign if you want to help:  http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/declare-july-4th-energy-independence-day

What’s Bigger Than Facebook?

Social Networking Utilty from NingWell, it could be YOUR Social Networking site.

What’s that you say? You don’t have a social networking site?

Why not? You can set up your own in a few minutes using Ning and it doesn’t even have to cost you a dime.

Of course, you’ll want to use your own domain and get rid of the company’s ads. This will cost a few bucks per month.

Once you get it up and running, run some advertising, run some contests to build up your user base, and watch the ad revenue go up!

The Stupid Woman Did It

I don’t know which is worse, the fact that the resistance in Iraq carries out these suicide attacks, or that they have such disrespect for the people who do their dirty work.

Read this piece on Time’s site: http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1817158,00.html?xid=rss-topstories

This whole thing is bad enough. But of course the conservative bloggers are coming out of the woodwork to claim that progressives support this kind of thing. JournalingDavid.com just ran a piece shredding another blogger who was horrified by this tragedy. I don’t think he even bothered to read the whole article before jumping to the conclusion that anyone would support this stuff.

You can see his post here: http://www.journalingdavid.com/?p=4

Of course, he also posted a gruesome picture of the female suicide bomber. Maybe that was just to increase the “shock and awe”.
